
WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- The Lake County Coroner's Office on Monday identified the man killed in a north suburban police shooting over the weekend.
Ricardo Delafuente, 58, of Waukegan was killed in the shooting in the 100-block of Leith Avenue in Waukegan, the coroner's office said.
He died from multiple gunshot wounds, the coroner's office said.
Waukegan police responded just before 3 p.m. Saturday to a report of a man who had attempted suicide.
Waukegan police confirmed three officers arrived.
At some point, police shot Delafuente.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are not yet known. No one else was hurt.
At least five evidence markers could be seen on the doorsteps of a home in the area.
Crime tape was wrapped around several homes. ABC7 also saw a Waukegan police cruiser towed away from the scene.
The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Unit is investigating.
