CHICAGO -- McDonald's is pushing back against a class-action lawsuit that claims its McRib sandwich "misleads" the public.
The court filing in Illinois accuses the fast-food company of misrepresenting what's really inside the McRib patty.
It says the chain uses "lower-grade pork" or meat byproducts and not any actual pork rib.

McDonald's refutes those accusations, telling USA TODAY the lawsuit "distorts the facts," and insists the McRib is made of boneless pork.
The class action suit seeks damages and a change in McRib advertising, but details weren't given.
The McRib returned to McDonald's on Dec. 3 for a limited time.
For the first time, customers can also purchase a jug of the iconic sauce thanks to a new limited-time, online-only drop for A Whole Lotta McRib Sauce.
