Man injured in McHenry County stabbing, minor charged: sheriff's office

The sheriff's office said the stabbing was domestic in nature.

McHENRY COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- A minor has been charged after a man was stabbed in McHenry County Thursday night, the sheriff's office said.

McHenry County sheriff's deputies responded about 9 p.m. to the 5300-block of Leeside Street in unincorporated McHenry for a reported stabbing.

Deputies found a man with stab wounds.

He was taken to Condell Hospital in Libertyville, where he was treated and released.

A minor suspect was located and taken into custody shortly after the incident, police said.

The minor has been charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The suspect is detained at the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center.

The sheriff's office said the stabbing was domestic in nature and is believe to be isolated. There is no ongoing threat to the public.
