Measles case confirmed in Kane County; health officials working to notify potentially exposed people

KANE COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- Health officials in the west suburbs are working to notify people who may have been exposed to the measles.

One case has now been confirmed in Kane County.

The health department is investigating potential exposure locations to let people know if they could be at risk.

Symptoms include fever, cough, runny nose, and rash. You should watch for symptoms up to 21 days after being exposed.

Doctors say vaccination is the best way to prevent the illness.
