CHICAGO (WLS) -- Actress and singer Megan Hilty is back in Chicago.
She first debuted the Broadway hit "Death Becomes Her" in Chicago. The show went on to earn a Tony nomination for her role.
Hilty is performing her show, "A Merry Little Christmas," at Steppenwolf Theatre this weekend.
But she said the success of "Death Becomes Her" is "a dream come true."
"A Merry Little Christmas" brings a whole lot of Hilty to the stage in an intimate way.
"The audience just needs to leave the show feeling like they know you. So that's my goal. By the end of the show, we're best friends. You know me outside of what I do, and get a little deeper context into the songs I've performed throughout my career and understand why they're so personal," Hilty said.
She recently talked about memories she made at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.
"I love the city. I love the people; the audiences are so savvy. It was thrilling getting to perform for the Chicago audiences, and we learned so much. I think that was the primary reason our producers picked Chicago because they knew we would get really honest feedback, which would be the most helpful in tailoring the show for New York. I'm really thrilled to get to do my concerts where we got to build and tailor 'Death Becomes Her,'" Hilty said. "Only come see me if you want to ring in the holidays, get to know me a little bit better and have a little fun. But if you don't like any of those things don't come."
"A Merry Little Christmas" is at Steppenwolf Friday night, with more shows Saturday afternoon and evening.
Reserve your tickets now because they're going fast.
