Pedestrian struck, killed by train near River Grove, Metra NCS says

RIVER GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- A pedestrian died after being struck by a train near River Grove on Monday, Metra NCS said.

Metra NCS said inbound and outbound trains were stopped near River Grove at about 2 p.m.

Train #105 struck a pedestrian between the Hanson Park and Galewood stations, Metra said.

A Metra spokesperson confirmed the pedestrian died.

Trains began moving with extensive delays by 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

Metra Milwaukee District West trains were also impacted by the delays.
