CAMPTON HILLS, Ill. (WLS) -- A woman who was found dead last month in the driveway of her home in the west suburbs had been hit by a vehicle, officials said.
Initially, police had only said they were responding to a "disturbance."
Police responded to the 4N600-block of Brookside West Drive in Campton Hills around 10:45 p.m. on May 9.
There, they found a woman who was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Kane County Coroner's Office has identified her as 44-year-old Nena Peduzzi.
At the time, police said they were conducting a death investigation.
On Friday, over a month after the incident, the Kane County State's Attorney's Office announced that the woman's death was an accident as a result of the pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.
No charges will be filed, officials said.
Authorities did not provide further information about the fatal crash.
