CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago drivers should pack some patience for this weekend as a major ramp will close.
Concrete pavement patching to repair the Ontario and Ohio Street ramps to the elevated bridges in Chicago will require full closure over three weekends, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.
This first closure is happening on Friday, June 12 at 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday
Ontario Street will be closed between Orleans Street and the Kennedy. Drivers will be able to access the expressway via Orleans Street, Division Street and Clybourn Parkway to North Avenue (Illinois 64).
IDOT has not shared which other weekends the ramps will be closed.
The construction is part of a $15.4 million project to rehabilitate the structures carrying Ohio and Ontario streets over the Chicago River's North Branch, Union Pacific railroad and Kingsbury Street.
