2 children on scooters injured by car crash in Oswego, police say

OSWEGO, Ill. (WLS) -- Two children on scooters were injured by a nearby car crash Saturday in the west suburbs, police said.

The crash happened around 12:51 p.m. at U.S. Highway 34 and Heritage Drive in Oswego.

Two vehicles collided at the intersection, and one of the vehicles hit the kids on scooters who were waiting at the light, police said.

A third person on a scooter was not seriously hurt.

Police say both drivers have been cited for violations.

Eastbound Highway 34 was closed for several hours, but was later reopened.
