Pedestrian struck, critically injured on DuSable Lake Shore Drive downtown

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was seriously hurt in a hit and run on DuSable Lake Shore Drive Wednesday night, Chicago police said.

The incident occurred at about 11:40 p.m. in the 100-block of South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

Police said the man was crossing when a black vehicle blew through the traffic light and lane markings and struck the man.

The man was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

The driver fled the scene, police said. Area Three detectives are investigating.
