CHICAGO (WLS) -- Summer registration for Chicago Park District programs will open next week.
Registration will open on Monday at 9 a.m. for parks west of California Avenue and continue on Tuesday at 9 a.m. for parks east of California Avenue. In-person registration varies by park and begins on Saturday, April 25.
This year's programming lineup features walking clubs, parent and tot gymnastics, senior swim classes and more, the park district said. From pickleball to quilting to archery, there is something for everyone.
The park district said it is offering summer programs for over 38,000 participants, featuring a selection of more than 1,000 activities, including summer day camp.
Summer day camps will run from Monday, June 22 until Friday, July 31, with most camps running for six hours a day, either 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Most other summer programs run from June 15 to Aug. 9.
Early bird and extended camp options offer working families additional opportunities for children that need to come to the park early and/or leave late.
The park district is a sponsor of the Summer Food Service. Children enrolled in park programming during the summer can receive up to one free meal and snack (varies depending on park) per day.
All camps range in cost, and some are offered for free, the park district said. For more information about financial aid, click here.
Parents and guardians can view one of two webinar recordings hosted by the park district in preparation for registration day, available here.
