
FOREST PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- All inbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway were shut down for hours after a serious west suburban crash left at least one person dead early Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 2:16 a.m. near 1st Avenue in Forest Park, Illinois State Police said.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash and one person was killed, ISP said. The person's gender, age and identity have not been released.
It was not yet known if there were any other injuries.
Police say traffic was getting by on the shoulder, but drivers were encouraged find another route.
The lanes were closed for hours and later reopened before 8 a.m., ISP said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
