1 in custody after Mokena barricade situation

MOKENA, Ill. (WLS) -- A person is in custody after a barricade situation in Mokena Wednesday morning, the Will County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded to the 18700-block of Marjorie Parkway for a domestic violence call and a barricaded armed subject.

The sheriff's office said that the victim and her three children had fled the residence and a suspect had made violent threats.

A perimeter was set up and residents in a two-block radius were asked to shelter in place, the sheriff's office said.

At about 5:20 a.m., the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody, the sheriff's office said.
