South Holland police are looking for the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that killed Cornell Carpenter on 173rd St. near Babe Ruth baseball field.

SOUTH HOLLAND, Ill. (WLS) -- South suburban police are asking for the public's help finding the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run over the weekend.

Cornell Carpenter, 59, of South Holland was hit sometime Saturday night into Sunday morning in the 100-block of East 173rd Street near the railroad tracks and Babe Ruth baseball field in South Holland, police said.

Investigators say the vehicle involved likely has front-end damage or broken lights.

Police believe Carpenter was hit by a vehicle and dragged for some distance.
