Sports Illustrated Resort coming to Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Sports Illustrated Resorts announced it will open a location in Chicago's Loop.

The hotel will feature "striking imagery and contemporary, sports-inspired design elements."

Travel + Leisure Co. announced it will take the replace the Virgin Hotel currently standing at 203 N Wabash Avenue.

"The Windy City's rich sports legacy - from historic ballparks to iconic arenas - makes it the perfect setting for our third location," the company said.

Sports fans will be able to access the resort's sports bar and restaurant during its preseason era this winter.

The project completion is expected in late 2026.

The Sports Illustrated-inspired resort will feature a mix of approximately 250 units.
