Person hospitalized in serious condition after fire breaks out at Streeterville high-rise: CFD

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person was hospitalized in serious condition after a fire broke out at a downtown high-rise on Tuesday evening, the Chicago Fire Department said.

CFD said the fire broke out at residential building in the Streeterville neighborhood's 400-block of East Ohio Street.

At least five ambulances were requested to the scene. ABC7 cameras captured a large emergency response outside of the building.

CFD found the fire inside a unit. How it started was not immediately clear.

Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
