Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland speaks at graduation at Niles West HS

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- U.S. Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland delivered the commencement address at the Niles West High School on Sunday.

Garland is a native of north suburban Lincolnwood.

He graduated 46 years ago from Niles West, where he was student council president and valedictorian.

The ceremony was open only to the graduates and their guests.
