APPALACHIA, Va. -- A high school head football coach from Virginia has officially been listed in the Virginia State Police's database for missing persons.
State police said searches continued Sunday in an attempt to locate Travis Turner, who works at Union High School, WJHL reported.
Turner was last seen on Thursday in Wise County, Virginia, wearing a gray sweatshirt, sweatpants and glasses, police said. His addition to the database comes after he became the subject of an "active search" involving state police agents from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Wytheville Field Office.
State police said agents were sent to Turner's home on Thursday as part of an investigation. But while in transit, the agents were informed that Turner was no longer there. State police said that agents were not going to the home to arrest Turner, but rather that it was part of the investigation.

State police member Jason Day said on Saturday that they have focused their search on the general location of Turner's house by using drones and police K-9s.
Turner has not been located, and state police confirmed its investigation is ongoing. Anyone with possible information on Turner's whereabouts is asked to contact police at 540-444-7788, according to the missing persons page.
