DHS opening new migrant detention center dubbed 'Speedway Slammer' in Indiana, Secretary Noem says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Department of Homeland Security is opening another migrant detention facility, this time in Indiana.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem made the announcement Tuesday on X, dubbing the new facility the "Speedway Slammer."

But she did not say where in Indiana it is going to be.

The state of Florida recently opened the so-called "Alligator Alcatraz," a tent facility in an abandoned airstrip in the Florida Everglades.
