
LAKE STATION, Ind. (WLS) -- A semi carrying mail packages split in half in northwest Indiana on Thursday morning.
The crash happened at about at 4:15 a.m. on the ramp from NB I-65 to eastbound I-80/94, Indiana State Police said.
Police said the semi-truck hit a pole, causing the trailer to split open.
The truck was carrying postal products, according to police .
Chopper 7 was over the scene as packages were scattered across the ramp.

All lanes reopened by 9 a.m.
