Missing man found dead in Des Plaines River near Libertyville, officials say

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- The body of a missing man has been found along the Des Plaines River near Libertyville Friday.

Chopper 7 was over the Des Plaines River at Oak Spring Road on Friday morning.

The Libertyville Fire Department said they began their search on Thursday.

At about 7:30 p.m. Friday, Lake County Forest Preserves said emergency responders found the body of a man.

Officials have not released the man's identity.

Libertyville fire and Lake County Forest Preserve officials led the search effort.
