Waukegan mayor steps in as federal agents detain woman outside City Hall: VIDEO

WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- The mayor of Waukegan stepped in while federal agents detained a woman outside City Hall on Monday afternoon.

Cunningham told ABC7 he saw the woman being cuffed, and then, she started calling his name.

Cunningham helped get her car towed while she was being detained.

ABC7 spoke with the woman's father. He says she is an American citizen and that she was charged with obstructing a federal investigation.

Federal authorities have not confirmed that.
