CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was found shot to death on a West Side sidewalk early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.
Police said the 33-year-old man was found in the West Garfield Park neighborhood's 4300-block of West Van Buren Street around 1:48 a.m.
The victim, shot in the body multiple times, was transported in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.
The man was found minutes after two shootings injured at least seven people just over 1 mile away, in the Garfield Park neighborhood's 3800-block of West Maypole Avenue.
Area Four detectives are investigating.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
