Prosecutors accused group of surrounding ICE vehicle, clashing with feds during protest last September

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The White House may have to turn over communications tied to protests at a Broadview U.S. Immigration and Customs facility.
An attorney for one of the so-called "Broadview Six" says a judge approved a request for the government to turn over communications between the White House and U.S. attorney.
Prosecutors had accused the group of surrounding an ICE vehicle and clashing with federal agents during a protest last September.
Charges against two people have been dropped.
A judge could rule next month on a motion to dismiss the charges against the remaining defendants.
The six previously pleaded not guilty.
Because the six include four Democrats who were either running for office or already serving, supporters allege they are being prosecuted for their political beliefs and not because of anything they actually did on that day.
If convicted, the conspiracy count carries a maximum of six years in federal prison.
