CHICAGO (WLS) -- According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, two out of every five gay men, and 50% of lesbian women, experience domestic violence. Many of these survivors face overwhelming obstacles when finding help.
To raise awareness, WINGS is hosting a celebration that's all about love, in all its forms. The Chicago nonprofit is throwing its first ever Valentine's Drag Extravaganza. It'll be a night of food, fun and fabulous performances! People are encouraged to come out and celebrate that love is love, and love shouldn't hurt.
The celebration kicks off Thursday, Feb. 12 at Sidetrack Chicago, located at 3349 N. Halsted St. Proceeds will support WINGS' mission to provide safety, healing, and hope for survivors.
