Woman, 84, seriously injured in Skokie apartment fire

SKOKIE, Ill. (WLS) -- An 84-year-old woman was seriously injured in a fire in north suburban Skokie Monday night, the Skokie Fire Department said.

Firefighters responded at about 10:08 p.m. to a multi-family building on fire in the 9500-block of Bronx Place.

The fire was contained to a unit on the third floor and an 84-year-old woman was transported to a hospital in serious condition, the department said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
