CHICAGO (WLS) -- The new Maggie Daley Park is not quite complete yet, but a group of the curious got a first look as part of Chicago Ideas Week.

Nora Daley joined the group as they toured the park named for her mother. The park will boast unique features including a 400-meter ice skating ribbon, a competitive-level rock climbing wall and tee-pee like structures that will emit what looks like moonlight at night.

"People can remember what the park looked like originally, it was very flat, uninviting. This park is anything but, 1,300 trees, acres of great lawn," said Michael Kelly, Chicago Park District. "It'll be a wonderful place for people to come whether their coming to the Millennium (Park) and they find their way over the Gary Bridge or they come downtown and they just want some quiet time with their family."

The $60 million park is set to open in December.
