CHESTERTON, Ind. (WLS) -- Train tickets could soon cost more on the South Shore Line, as the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District board of trustees proposed a plan to raise prices Wednesday night.
A one-way ticket from Hammond, Ind. to Chicago would cost $6 up from $5.25. A one-way fare from South Bend to Chicago would go up to $13 from $11.75.
The rate hike still needs to be approved. Six public hearings will be held later this month.
