Chicago street sweeping starts Wednesday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Department of Streets and Sanitation will begin its regular neighborhood street sweeping program on Wednesday, April 1.

The citywide program runs annually from April through November. Temporary parking restrictions are posted the day before sweeping is scheduled to begin. Some arterial streets have permanently posted signs that specify a once-per-week period when parking is prohibited for sweeping.

Residents whose cars remain in parking restricted zones during the posted hours will be ticketed.
