Police: Boy, 16, shot in the face in North Lawndale

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police said a 16-year-old boy was shot in the face in the city's North Lawndale neighborhood Friday evening.

The teen was shot shortly after 6 p.m. in the 1500-block of South Kedzie Avenue, police said. He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Police said the victim was inside a basement apartment with two other people, who heard a gunshot. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.
