Army veteran fatally shot while driving on SW Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A young Army veteran was shot and killed early Saturday after a confrontation with another motorist on Chicago's Southwest Side.

Abner Garcia, 23, was driving southbound on South Pulaski Road near East 52nd Street in the West Elsdon neighborhood just after 1:30 a.m.

Someone in a van that pulled up beside him flashed gang signs and fired shots.

Garcia was shot in the head.
