CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was stabbed Wednesday afternoon at a CTA train stop on the Near North Side, Chicago Fire Department officials said.
CTA Red Line trains were briefly delayed and rerouted due to the police investigation at the Chicago Avenue stop, according to CTA officials.
The stabbing happened around 2:41 p.m. in the 800 block of North State Street, Chicago police said. A 58-year-old man and a female suspect were in a verbal argument when she produced a sharp object and cut the man on his head.
Trains were stopped after the stabbing and passengers were brought onto CTA buses, officials said.
The injured man was taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition, CFD officials said. The female offender then fled southbound on Wabash Avenue, Chicago police said
The 95th-bound Red Line train line was delayed while Chicago police were at the scene but its has since resumed normal service, the CTA said. The trains had temporarily been rerouted to the southbound elevated tracks.
No further information was immediately available.
Chicago police continue to investigate. No arrests have been made.
