ITASCA, Ill. (WLS) -- One person was injured in a school bus crash on Interstate 290 in the north suburbs Monday morning, Illinois State Police said.
The crash, which also involved a Jeep Grand Cherokee, took place just before 11:30 a.m. on I-290 at Interstate 390 in Itasca.
The bus was contracted by the Mount Prospect Park District, and was carrying 51 students and seven adult administrators.

One park district employee was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police and the park district said.
Police initially said several people were injured.
It was not clear what led up to the crash.
The students were placed on another bus, police said.
The children were on their way to the Enchanted Castle in Lombard as part of a regularly scheduled event, the park district said.
Elk Grove and Itasca fire crews responded to the incident.
A Winter Weather Advisory was in effect for northern and central Cook County at the time.
