CHICAGO (WLS) -- Breast cancer is the second-leading cause of death among women, with more than 230,000 new cases expected this year.
The need to raise awareness for early detection is huge, and something big is needed to break through the clutter to spread the word, one hospital says.
So Advocate Health Care has erected a bright pink, 16-foot, 1,500-pound, bra in downtown Chicago. The "support bra" was unveiled Wednesday morning.
The vertically hanging sculpture is at Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Avenue.
Advocate Health Care will also will donate $1 to the American Cancer Society (up to $3,000), for every photo tagged with #supportyourgirls posted on Twitter and Instagram.
