1 killed in Kennedy Expwy. crash, all lanes reopened

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man in his 50s was killed in a one-car accident on the Kennedy Expressway at Fulton on the city's West Side Friday afternoon.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of the Kennedy at Fulton Ave. around 2:50 p.m. Friday.

Backup on the expressway stretched for miles Friday afternoon as northbound traffic was restricted to one lane. All lanes have since been reopened.

State Police said that the victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he later died.

There is no word yet on what caused the crash.
