Veteran car dealer Al Piemonte dies at 83

MELROSE PARK, Ill. -- A fixture on Chicago television for more than 30 years, car dealer Al Piemonte has died.

Piemonte ran commercials for his Melrose Park dealership on most Chicago televiston stations, making him a familiar face. He even has a YouTube channel dedicated to the spots.

Piemonte was known for his sweaters and head gestures.

Piemonte died on Christmas Eve at Lake Forest Hospital. He was 83.

According to published reports, Piemonte had recently been treated for pneumonia.
