Jury deliberates in Milton Street trial

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - February 20, 2008 The jury got the fraud and tax evasion case late Tuesday afternoon following instructions about the law from the judge.

Jurors deliberated Wednesday without reaching a verdict.

The prosecutor says Milton Street's consulting income soared after his brother became mayor of Philadelphia, but Milton Street didn't file returns or pay income taxes between 2002 and 2004.

Milton Street acknowledged in testimony last week that he took advantage of his relationship to the mayor to win lucrative consulting contracts. But he maintains he didn't do anything illegal.
