Norman Pellegrini dies

An icon in Chicago broadcasting has died. Norman Pellegrini was the program director at WFMT-FM for almost 45 years, and is credited for giving the fine arts radio station its unique style.

He also hosted the station's Lyric Opera broadcasts, as well as performances by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Pellegrini died this morning at the age of 79.
