'Migraine' most popular call-in-sick excuse

July 8, 2009 A new study shows that "migraine" seems to be a popular choice.

A poll of more than 2,000 workers in Great Britain found 15 percent who admitted to making up an illness to get a day off used migraine as their excuse.

The research also suggests that people with fake migraines put real sufferers in a difficult position. Of those who say they are real migraine sufferers, 28 percent say they worry their boss won't believe them when they call in sick with a migraine.
