Chicago police will continue to patrol the Kenwood neighborhood, but officers will no longer be specifically assigned to the first family's home. Starting in October, the Chicago Police Department will no longer have a special detail protecting President Barack Obama's South Side home.

According to the Chicago Tribune, city officials have been meeting with the Secret Service on how to best secure the property.

The first family spends most of its time at the White House.
