Kohl's Step Up For Kids Stair Climb

Help the kids at Children's Memorial Hospital reach new heights by participating in the 13th Annual Kohl's Step Up for Kids stair climb to the top of the 80-floor Aon Center, Chicago's third tallest building. The event benefits the fundraising efforts of K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, an affiliated organization of Children's Memorial, and the hospital's Family Services department. The event includes a finish line celebration at the Mid-America Club on the top floor, with live entertainment, refreshments and spectacular views of the city. Who: Join 3,000 serious athletes, fitness enthusiasts, families and Children's Memorial supporters as they climb 1,643 stairs at the Aon Center.

When: Sunday, January 31, 2010 8 a.m. start time

Where: Aon Center, 200 E. Randolph St., Chicago

Note: There will be no race day registration.

Why: Children's Memorial is recognized as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country by rankings published in U.S. News & World Report. Its physicians are on faculty at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. The hospital is currently engaged in the Heroes for Life campaign to raise a minimum of $600 million to help create its new home, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital. As a not-for-profit organization, Children's Memorial relies on philanthropy to help provide care to 126,000 patients and their families every year.
