Quinn proclaims Dutchie Caray Day

Governor Quinn honored the wife of the late Chicago broadcast legend Harry Caray by proclaiming Friday Dutchie Caray Day.Quinn made the proclamation at the new Harry Caray's restaurant at Navy Pier, which opens on Monday. That would have been Harry's 96th birthday.

A number of events are planned that day. Among them is the 12th annual worldwide toast to Harry Caray.

As for Dutchie, she admitted she liked being in the spotlight Friday.

"I used to think, when Harry got a day I used to think, 'Oh wow, just another day,' you know. Big deal. But I want to tell you how I feel about today. This is a really big deal for me. I am so happy," Dutchie Caray said.

Governor Quinn has declared Monday Harry Caray Day in Illinois.

Navy Pier is the sixth Harry Caray's restaurant.
