The house, across the street from the Lenawee County sheriff's department, burned down in 1979. Firefighters found the bodies of two young women and an infant. The child died in the fire, the two women had been tied, beaten and shot to death.
Thirty-one years later, prosecutors claim new technology has cracked the cold case. They've officially charged Walker with the crimes.
In a statement, the Lenawee County prosecutor says these murders have been under investigation since January 1979 and the warrant has been issued following the development of additional witnesses and evidence.
Pictures from the archives of the Lenawee County sheriff show Walker in 1975 and 1979 when he was arrested for two separate assault charges. Around that same time, prosecutors say he was behind what are now called the Cary-Madison murders.
Walker was arraigned on the murder charges earlier this week.
