Lincoln is no. 1 in J.D. Power survey

UNDATED Ford's Lincoln luxury car brand is the most dependable in the world. That's according to J.D. Power and Associates, which gives Lincoln the number one spot in its annual survey that asks owners of three-year-old cars how many problems they've had with their vehicles.

Lincoln owners reported the fewest.

Perennial favorite Lexus, made by Toyota, is second. The Toyota brand itself slipped to fifth place.

Jaguar and Porsche are also in the top five. The Porsche 911 had the fewest complaints of any car in the survey.

Nissan's Acura brand comes in sixth place.

There are two more U.S. brands in the top 10 - Buick in seventh and Cadillac in ninth. They're are made by General Motors.

Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai round out the top 10.

Despite the three showings in the top 10, on average, U.S. brands didn't perform as well as imports. Still, J.D. Power says most automakers have made significant improvements in reducing traditional problems, and that's good news for consumers.
