Chevy's redesigned mid-sized sedan now has what's called an e-assist hybrid powertrain that's also used on the Chevrolet Buick.
The automaker says during a sharp turn the side airbags might deploy and in other situations the car's airbags and seatbelt pre-tension devices might not deploy.
No injuries have been reported.
GM will notify owners next month about repairs.
