BRENTWOOD, Calif. -- A man connected to more than a dozen robberies all over the Bay Area has been arrested. The so called 'Bearded Bandit' may have his facial hair to blame.

The 'Bearded Bandit' was spotted by a shopper in Brentwood. He had shaved off the side of the beard, but still had some facial hair.

This all started in February at a bank in Fremont and spread out from there -- from Gilroy to Sacramento. The most recent hits were Monday in Lafayette and Rio Vista.

Police put out pictures of him taken from surveillance cameras, he would cover up with sunglasses and a hat but you could see that beard. It is believed he stole tens of thousands of dollars.

Police say it all came to an end for him here at this cvs where he was buying razors, presumably to shave the rest of his beard off.
