CHICAGO (WLS) -- One person is hospitalized after a shooting on the Bishop Ford Freeway, officials said.
Illinois State Police and Chicago police are investigating along the inbound lanes of I-94 near 130th Street after receiving a call of shots fired around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
At least two bullet holes can be seen in the passenger side of a semi truck on the shoulder. Two semi trucks pulled over, but only one appears to have been hit by bullets.
The Chicago Fire Department confirms a shooting victim was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The person's condition has stabilized, officials said.
It's not known what circumstances led to this shooting or where the shots came from.
As of 10 p.m., traffic was moving in both directions, but there is a substantial backup in the area, especially on the inbound lanes.
State police said the ramp at 130th will be closed for some time as the investigation continues.
