Body found in burning vehicle in Homewood

HOMEWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A body was found Monday afternoon in a burning vehicle in south suburban Homewood, police said.

At about 2:15 p.m., officials responded to the 1300-block of 187th Street for a report of a car on fire. When authorities arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed.

After the fire was extinguished, officials found a body.

Police are investigating.
