CPD officer suffers medical emergency, involved in minor collision

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago police officer suffered a medical emergency and was involved in a minor car crash at 61st and Ashland in the Englewood neighborhood Friday evening.

Chicago Police Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the officer suffered a possible cardiac arrest and his squad car collided with another vehicle.

The officer was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known.

A person in the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
