2 teens wounded in West Englewood

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two teenagers were wounded in a shooting in the West Englewood neighborhood Tuesday afternoon, Chicago police said.

The shooting occurred at about 12:07 p.m. near 65th and Paulina streets. Police said a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were both walking down the street when a black vehicle approached and someone inside fired shots at them.

The boy was shot in the chin and the girl was shot in the thigh, police said. Both victims were transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

The vehicle fled the scene and no one is in custody. Area One detectives are investigating.
